The Red Krayola Antes Llamado "The Red Crayola" Es Un Grupo De Rock Psicodélico Y "avant-Garde" De Houston Texas Formado Por Estudiantes De Arte En La Universidad De St. Thomas En 1966. La Banda Está Encabezada Por El Cantante/guitarrista Y Artista Visual Mayo Thompson Junto Con El Baterista Frederick Barthelme Hermano Del Novelista Donald Barthelme Y Steve Cunningham. Su Trabajo En Los '60 Y '70 Prefiguró El Punk Y La Escena Del No Wave En 1980 En La Ciudad De Nueva York. As Remarked By Mayo Thompson In The 1960s The Red Crayola Used To Open Transparent Radiation With “here’s Our Folk Rock Number” The Psychedelic Rock Track Has Since Then Been Popularized By Spacemen 3’s Version That Dating All The Way Back To The Late 1980s. However Transparent Radiation Does Indeed Follow The Song Structure Of Folk Rock As Can Be Heard On The Track’s Demo Release But Nonetheless On The Album Roky Erickson Of The 13th Floor Elevators Was Invited To Play Harmonica And Can Be Heard On The Left Channel Playing Through Copious Amounts Of Reverb. Additionally The Song Is Transformed Into A Hallucinogenic Voyage Involving Post-Apocalyptic Radiation Infested Lands And Cannibalistic Scientists Rationing Amidst Young Flesh Through The Guise Of Dark Surrealistic Imagery Rhyming At The End Of Every Verse. Vocal And Instrumental Tracks Are Doubled And Layered On Top Of Each Other Panned Left Right And Center With Tape Speeds Fluctuating And Increasing.
