In The Track Jack Is Questioning The Theory Asking His Therapist Why His Good Deeds Aren’t Circling Back To Him. "I Had A Really Tough Year Last Year 2018 I Think It Was With All The Success Of "The Click". I Was A Little Bit Blind-Sided By It Because We Went So Long Without Success And "The Click" Went And The Touring Was In The Thousands It’s Like “Oh My God This Is A Lot Of Work I’m Really Not Used To This. I’m In France? When Did I Get Here?” It Kind Of Just Hit Me And I Started Having A Bad Year From There. My Entire Mindset Was “I’m Doing Everything Right Why Am I Not Feeling Better? “Karma” is the vision of AJR’s vocalist Jack Met, as mentioned in an Instagram live-stream. Additionally, it was the very first track the band wrote for the album.

"I had a really tough year last year (2018), I think it was with all the success of "The Click". I was a little bit blind-sided by it because we went so long without success and "The Click" went, and the touring was in the thousands, it’s like: “Oh my god, this is a lot of work, I’m really not used to this. I’m in France? When did I get here?” It kind of just hit me and I started having a bad year from there. My entire mindset was “I’m doing everything right, why am I not feeling better?
